Power That Transforms: EnDev at IRENA Innovation Week 2025
From June 10–13, 2025, the global energy community will gather in Bonn for IRENA Innovation Week — a space where forward-thinking solutions meet policy vision and practical action. The focus this year: tripling renewable energy capacity and accelerating the energy transition through innovation. But innovation is not only about technology — it’s about impact. That’s where EnDev comes in.

Since 2004, EnDev has championed inclusive, sustainable energy access, turning innovation into meaningful change for millions of people around the world.
EnDev has long promoted Productive Use of Energy (PUE) as a key lever for development. When people gain access to electricity, the benefits go beyond lighting homes. Energy becomes a tool for transformation — powering irrigation pumps for farmers, chilling milk for local cooperatives, or enabling small businesses to scale. In other words, energy becomes an engine of economic empowerment.
At the heart of this year’s Innovation Week is the understanding that sustainable energy access must be inclusive, locally anchored, and development-oriented. That’s why EnDev is proud to join the conversation — and to bring concrete field experience to the table.
Barbara Richard, Team Leader at EnDev, will speak on June 12 during the session “Productive Uses of Energy: Rethinking Perspectives and Drivers for Innovation” (13:30–15:00 CEST). She will reflect on the innovations and lessons learned in PUE over the past decade — and where we need to go from here.
