Therefore, the project will promote the distribution and use of solar energy and services focused on irrigation, cooling, and drying, to increase production, improve processing. This will reduce post-harvest losses for the smallholder farming households and the related agri-businesses in the horticultural and dairy value chains. The project was initiated by EnDev and is co\u2212financed by the IKEA Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Kenya, SEFFA is structured into two components i.e. <strong>Market Development<\/strong> and <strong>Access to Consumer Finance. <\/strong>SNV is implementing the<strong> market development<\/strong> component which focuses on interventions for enhancing the distribution and uptake of productive use of energy (PUE) technologies such as Solar Water Pumping, Cooling and Drying among smallholder farmers and small and micro enterprises in dairy and horticultural value chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this project, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snv.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SNV<\/a> will focus on <a>the market development support to enhance the last mile distribution and uptake of the solar-powered pumps (SWP) for productive use by the smallholder farmers in Machakos, Makueni, Kajiado, Kirinyaga, Meru, and Muranga. Support to the SWPs distributors will include a Results-Based Financing (RBF) mechanism as the main facilitation mechanism, in addition to the need-based but optional Capacity Building, Awareness Creation, and Technical Assistance Support.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Request for proposals &nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The SEFFA Project hereby invites eligible organizations to submit their applications expressing interest to enhance the last mile distribution and uptake of the solar-powered pumps for productive use by the smallholder farmers in Machakos, Makueni, Kajiado, Kirinyaga, Meru, and Muranga.
